Employers' requirements and students' essential skills

This talk show (Talkshow) was co-held by Faculty of Human Resource Management and the Human Resources Club under Hanoi University of Home Affairs on the morning of November 4, at the 5th-floor Hall in the  Center for Library Information. It was presented by the speaker Phan Son - senior expert of HRD Academy. Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Quoc Suu, Vice Rector of the University attended and gave the opening speech. The talk show has attracted the attentions of many experts, managers, businessmen, leaders of units, lecturers and nearly 300 undergraduate students.

In his opening speech, the Vice-Rector Suu expressed his thanks and best wishes to all experts, managers, lecturers and all undergraduate students. According to him,  "In the context of globalization, international integration and the 4.0 Technology Revolution, the labor market is increasingly competitive so employers' requirements are increasing and towards approaching the global standards. Therefore, Hanoi University of Home Affairs always attaches great importance to cooperating with businesses, experts and managers in setting output standards, training programs, innovating teaching methods, improving practical experience and skills, and creating open job opportunities for students. "

The speaker Son with many years of experience in the position of senior expert of HRD Academy, Human resources management, Director of  system management at large corporations such as VinGroup, Viettel, Tecomen (in Korea), Brother (in Japan), ... brought a very excited atmosphere to the attendants when sharing such issues as labor market and career trends in the context of globalization, international integration, the Technology Revolution. 4.0;  Identifying  employers' requirements and problems posed in meeting the needs of businesses and employers; Clearly stating the positions, roles and importance of soft skills, professional skills, core skills, and methods of training students' skills; career, self-guidance and student employment...; Especially, special emphasis is placed on three required competency requirements like Knowledge; Skills and attitudes of students when applying for a job.
 
Discussions among the experts and invitees

Many inquiries from invitees and students sent to the program were answered by the experts. Mr. Tran Phu Hieu - Director of Vita Vina Overseas Study Company shared his experience and wished to send to the students attending the Talkshow that “Your attitudes will determine your success and positioning yourselves well will orient your future careers and identities ".
Ms. Duong Thi Thu Ha - Human Resources Director of Videc Group, also the Director of ONENESS Education Joint Stock Company with her 16 years of experience in the position of management and working in the field of human resources has raised issues that students need supporting and practicing before applying for job, which helped students understand the notion of "potential candidate portrait" from a corporate's perspectives so as that students build their own plans for their self-improvement.
Mr. Nguyen Van Khai - Deputy Head of Human Resource Management Department at Misa Joint Stock Company shared with students the issue of "Should do internship, practice or work at a small or a large company". He pointed out two factors of working effectively, which are working in a large company will learn their procedures and working in a small company will know about how to work more versatily and thereby giving them more advice.
Ms. Doan Van Anh - Deputy Director of Internal Affairs at Hong Lam Joint Stock Company with her 20 years of working experience has indicated the "golden qualities" of candidates that all of businesses want to have. Since then, she emphasized that students should hone and enhance the qualities and positive attitudes in order to be able to suit the requirements of the agencies, organizations and professions.

At the end of the show, Mr. Doan Van Tinh - Vice Dean of Human Resource Management Faculty expressed his thanks to the Board of Directors, experts, invitees, leaders of units and lecturers for taking their valuable time to attend the program. It is known that the talkshow "employers's requirements and students' essential skills" is among activities aimed at connecting university and businesses. Accordingly, the University in general and The Faculty of Human Resource Management in particular examine the requirements of businesses so that they can improve their training quality and help students position themselves as well as grasp core soft skills and career skills. From that, they constantly self-improve  in order to meet the needs of employers.
